November 2021 Membership Luncheon
Won't You Be My Neighbor: The Power of Telling Stories

On Thursday, November 18, 2021 we had our Membership Luncheon at Spazio Westport. As we approach Thanksgiving and the Holidays we wanted to make people aware of the many great Charities and Non-Profit organizations that are in our Chamber so we had them displayed on the screen as we gathered and networked. We then began our meeting by saying the National Anthem together and welcomed City Officials and Guests.
Next we presented plaques to the following new members:
- LaTasha Wren w/ Lifestyle Caregiving of Missouri
- Geoff Kroner w/ Terrabis
- John Hawkins w/ Insurance Store Inc.
After breaking for a tasty lunch and networking, Tom Lancia gave some Chamber Announcements and Anna Marie Wehr introduced our speaker, Katie Pesha. Katie is the founder and president of KP Consulting Group, a consortium of trusted professionals with decades of experience in strategic marketing, communications, and planning.
Katie's presentation was titled, "Won't You Be My Neighbor: The Power of Telling Stories." Inspired by the work of Mr. Rogers, she shared four tips to telling stories in a business setting and also gave us two video examples:
- Make goodness attractive
- Encourage human interaction
- Be authentic, vulnerable, accessible and real
- Build spaces that help us see our neighbor again
Examples:
Katie also ended her presentation asking this essential question: "How does your organization help to encourage, enrich & empower human interactions, relationships, and the good that grows in others?"
We closed our meeting by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and giving out some attendance prizes donated by St. Louis Arc and Yvonne Wesa w/ Compass Health Insurance.
