Parks & Recreation

An excellent park system, Creve Coeur’s parks offer something for everyone, with the traditional park amenities but also possessing a unique, reminiscent aura. Combining the past with the future, Millennium Park is now the home of the historic Tappmeyer Homestead. Assisted by the Tappmeyer Foundation, the city moved the 19th-century farmhouse to the park in order to preserve it. Millennium Park also has two playgrounds, paved walking paths, ball fields and a picnic pavilion. Home to the historic Hackmann and Clester Cabins, Conway Park includes a paved walking path, playground, and tennis courts, while Lake School Park is home to the historic Lake School House, a one-room schoolhouse moved to Creve Coeur to be preserved. In addition to these fine parks with historical treasures, the city offers H. Phillip Venable Memorial Park, LaVerne Collins Park, and Malcolm Terrace Park.

A rare asset, the City of Creve Coeur operates the Dielmann Recreational Complex, which houses the golf course and ice arena. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, the golf course offers a nine-hole getaway for residents and businesspersons.

Olivette has 94 acres of parkland separated into five city parks. The largest is Stacy Park, which at 35 acres, features a pavilion, fitness path, baseball fields, picnic tables, playgrounds, open athletic fields and a basketball court. Other parks include Irv Zeid Citizens Park, Villa Park, Indian Meadows Park and Warson Park, which include an equally wide range of facilities such as athletic fields, playground equipment, and pavilions as well as picnic and barbecue facilities. A 7.6-mile bikeway/trail through the city connects all five parks.

The Olivette Community Center has 10 rooms available to rent for classes and events. The center currently hosts martial arts, dance, yoga and senior fitness classes as well as a variety of club meetings.
Additionally, the Olivette Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programming for all ages throughout the year. The department operates recreational youth sports, which include soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball and softball in the spring and seasonal adult leagues.
